Get Me Glow x Cooking with Clio

As you know, Get Me Glow not only select the best of clean beauty brands, but also believes in an inside out approach by selecting high quality food supplements that are recommended and safe enough to be taken daily throughout the year, according to the seasonal changes and your lifestyle. We believe that well-being, nutrition and beauty are linked: When you go through period of stress, are not emotionally well, lacking of sleep, or if you do not eat good nutritious food, the skincare products - as clean and efficient as they can be - won't have the same glowy effect on your skin: It's a real 360 approach focusing on beauty as a whole.  

Considering the above, we reached out to @cookingwithclio, a new approach to cooking, that recently pre-launched on instagram (her website is coming soon). Clio, the founder, based in Geneva and mother of two kids, is a firm believer that by being healthy with what you eat, you will have many benefits from the inside and out. Passionate and dedicated, she is committed to inspire parents to be creative in the kitchen and give them the confidence they need to make hassle-free, balanced and healthy meals to suit the whole family. As much as we want the best for our kids in terms of food, she thought why not also go for the best for us too, the parents? It’s actually more than just making food, it's a lifestyle. It saves time, it’s educational, it’s practical, and even sustainable. And most importantly, it sets a positive example to the next generation.

Get Me Glow x Cooking With Clio

With Get me Glow’s In & Out beauty expertise and Cooking with Clio’s approach to healthy balanced food, we partnered together to come up with 3 delicious recipes (1 cooked & 2 raw dishes) that have the essential nutrients to help you:

- protect your skin from UV radiation, and

- enhance the perfect glow inside out

Easy to make, colourful and fun, you will love cooking these meals for breakfast and lunchtime and share them with your loved ones. 

THE CONTEST!

 

By making it handy and easy to replicate, we decided to launch a contest and have you coooook! Here is what you need to do: 

  1. Have fun cooking one of the 3 recipes and take a picture of your creation
  2. Share the result on Instagram (story or post) by tagging @getmeglow_beauty & @cookingwithclio before August 31st.

The lucky winner, (with the best caption), will receive a free one-to-one session with both founders: 

- 60min with Marie, the founder of Get Me Glow. She will analyse your skin type and give you tailored advice on the products recommended for your skin concerns. She will also take into account your lifestyle and the texture & scents you prefer. The session can be done by video call or you have the possibility to visit the Get me Glow Showroom and try the products at the same time!

- 60min with Clio, the founder of Cooking with Clio. She will be happy to coach you on any topic around the kitchen by video call. Are you looking for inspiration to cook family meals? Are you concerned about a fussy eater at home? Do you need help on how to work around a busy schedule to make home-made meals? Do you want an eco-friendly kitchen? Whichever the need, she is happy to help!

THE RECIPES

Rainbow Poke Bowl

 

  • Ingredients (serves 2):

(Enriched in beta carotene, in antioxidants, in omega 3 and vitamin E, in protein)

* 1 diced apricot
* 1/2 diced mango
* 1/3 cup peppers
* 1/3 cup edamame
* 1/3 cup pomegranates
* 3 tsp soy sauce
* 1 tsp sesame oil
* 1/2 pressed garlic
* 1/2 tsp grated ginger
* 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
* 1 tbsp peanuts / cashew nuts
* 2 tsp chia seeds
* 1 tsp black sesame seeds
* 1/2 diced raw salmon (sushi-grade)
* 1 cup quinoa
* 2 cups liquid broth

  • Method:

Quinoa (25min)
1. Preheat oven 200° / 180° fan forced
2. Poor 1 cup of quinoa into small tin
(No need to rinse quinoa, if you like the nutty /earthy flavour!)
3. Poor 2 cups of boiling liquid broth (veggie or chicken) in tin
4. Stir until all ingredients are mixed
5. Wrap up the baking tin tightly with aluminium foil
6. Transfer baking tin into the oven and bake for 25min
7. When ready, remove tin from oven and transfer to a bowl, let it cool down for 10min then transfer in the fridge for an hour.

Poke bowl (2min)
Once quinoa is cooled down, add all toppings: salmon, apricot, mango, avocado, edamame, red peppers, coconut, peanut, spring onion, sesame seeds, chia seeds.

Sauce (2min)
Mix soja sauce, sesame oil, rice wine vinegar together. Add pressed garlic and grated ginger. Mix until well combine and serve on poke bowl

Veggie & Chicken Craze

 

 

  • Ingredients (serves 2)

(Enriched in beta carotene, in antioxidants, in omega 3 and vitamin E, in protein)

*1 cup brocoli
*1/2 cup green peas
*1 cup brussels sprouts
*1 cup eggplants
*1/2 zucchini
*1 red onion
*1/2 garlic
*1/2 cup chickpea
*3 tbsp soy sauce
*2 tsp honey
*1 tsp concentrated tomato paste
*1tbsp cumin powder
*1 tsp chili flakes
*1 tsp flaxseed
*1 tbsp almonds
*2 tbsp coconut oil
*200g chicken breast

  • Method:

Veggies (45min)
1. Preheat oven 200° / 180° fan forced
2. Cover oven tray with thin aluminium foil
3. Medium dice sweet potato, eggplant, zucchini and red onions. Spread on oven tray 4. Cut brussels sprouts and broccoli into 2 and add spread on oven tray
5. Cover vegetables with coconut oil
6. Season well with salt, pepper and cumin powder. Toss to combine
7. Transfer tray to oven for 35min
8. After 35min, remove tray from oven and add almonds, lentils, chickpea, beans and peanuts on top of roasted vegetables
9. Transfer tray back to oven for 10min
10. Once ready, remove tray from oven and serve.

Chicken (10min)
1. Medium heat pan with tsp coconut oil
2. Add diced chicken and fry for 3 minutes on each side
3. Add 1 tsp coconut oil again and add bell peppers. Toss them in the pan for a minute or two till they brighten up in color and have cooked slightly. Toss in the garlic and cook for another minute. Add sweet and sour sauce (or home-made with recipe below), cook until sauce thickens.

Sauce (2min)
Mix soy sauce, honey, concentrated tomato paste and chili flakes together. Mix until well combine and cook with chicken to be caramelized.

 

Chia Glow Bowl

 

  • Ingredients (serves 2):

(Enriched in beta carotene, in antioxidants, in omega 3 and vitamin E, in protein)

* 1 apricot
* 1/2 mango
* 1 cup raspberries
* 1 flat peach
* 1/3 cup pomegranates
* 6 tsp chia seeds
* 1 tsp honey
* 1 kiwi
* 200ml almond milk
* 2 tsp grated coconut

  • Method:

1. Mix chia seeds and milk together in one container and leave in refrigerator the night before
2. Just before serving, add toppings: honey, diced apricot, diced mango, diced peach, diced kiwi and raspberries, grated coconut.
